Overview
The Chart of Accounts (COA) in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is the foundation of the accounting structure. It contains all General Ledger (G/L) accounts used for financial transactions, reporting, budgeting, and analysis.

How to Open the Chart of Accounts
- Open Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Use the search icon (magnifying glass) at the top-right corner
- Search for:
- Select Chart of Accounts from the list

Each line in the Chart of Accounts represents a G/L account.

Heading accounts do not allow direct posting.
Total Accounts

This means the total includes all accounts from 6100 to 6199.
Viewing Account Entries
To see transactions posted to a G/L account:
